This project will result in the placement of a fish barrier to protect and conserve a pure population of Yellowstone cutthroat trout.
Introduced species remain a threat to the viability of increasingly rare pure populations of Yellowstone cutthroat trout. The project will reduce the chance of hybridization with introduced rainbow trout and help preserve the genetic integrity of the Deer Creek fish population in 14 miles of stream.
