The removal of a culvert and stream bed enhancement will allow upstream and downstream movement of redband trout at a perched culvert that has restricted passage over the past 30 years. The project will allow access to 7 miles of spawning habitat in Deep Creek and Crazy creek. allows fish access

We are working with the Forest Service to now implement the designs for re-contouring lower Crazy Creek and replacing the culvert at the confluence with Deep Creek. To prepare for these next big phases of the project we are collecting seed and plants to grow out for riparian vegetation this last fall and this winter, and preparing for the in-stream and construction work. In stream work to reconnect lower Crazy Creek with the floodplain will occur in September and October of this year (depending on water level and weather). Planting will be done at the site this fall or next spring depending on the species and conditions on site. Culvert will be replaced this summer or next summer depending on final design selected by the Forest Service and the final piece of funding needed.

  • Replace culvert and realign stream habitat
