Western Native Trout Initiative

WNTI is a recognized fish habitat partnership and can compete for funding of native trout habitat projects from the National Fish Habitat Action Plan. These dollars are congressionally appropriated, and there is a specific project development process to follow. Projects are proposed at the local level, and submitted to WNTI by local state fishery managers and FWS biologists on an annual basis.

Currently, WNTI is soliciting native trout habitat conservation and improvement projects that could be funded in 2011through this program.
